"Direct Deposit" is the common term that describes the electronic deposit of your check (such as payroll or Social Security) directly into your checking or savings account. Since funds come into the depository institution via ACH (Automated Clearing House), financial institution personnel usually call it ACH. But regardless of the name or term, Direct Deposit is the safest and most efficient way to have your funds deposited into your account.

Direct Deposit is initiated by the member. For Social Security monthly deposits, a Treasury Department Standard Form 1199A Direct Deposit Sign-up form must be completed and sent to the proper federal agency. The Credit Union has a supply of these forms; or, see our note below to print the 1199A form from a personal computer. For company payrolls, the Credit Union's routing/transit number and the member's account number are needed by the company's payroll personnel.

The Credit Union's routing/transit number is: 2613-8850-3. The member's share draft account number can be found at the bottom of a share draft. It is a 13-digit number with at least these numbers: 70000 _ _ _ _ _ 10 _ (13 digits). If funds are to be deposited into savings or shares (SAV), the member's basic account or member number is used instead of the 13-digit share draft (DDA) account number.

Direct Deposit can begin just as soon as the paperwork is complete. Be sure to get a clear understanding of what day and month the deposit will take place. The Credit Union does NOT send a receipt of the transaction!

Note: EPB employees can choose direct deposit for payroll deduction. As a convenience, their forms can be obtained here: EPB Direct Deposit Form

For Federal Government forms that you can print on your own printer, just click on the Forms.gov logo. Once there, type in the SEARCH FORMS box: 1199A and click on the GO button. Then, print the form, fill it out, and send it to the proper government agency.
